April 15,1959-Dad maintained, I worked outside most of day
" "60-sultry 80 degrees hot. Defrosted planted okra, tomato's glad bulbs. to El Dor p.m. got milk storm in south.
April 15,1961-Frost cold n. wind. Dad on road, staking. I cleaned baked cookies, did little quilting.
" "1962-Mae came & took us to church a.m.
" "1963-Washed windy planted row beans
April 16,1959-.15 rain over night warm. We went to El Dor a.m. Set out 100 strawberry plants, Dad fished.
April 16,1960-Cold N. wind.Easter morn to church to Knox for dinner Rowe's & Morgans & Grandma Knox there. Stopped at Mike on way home.
April 16,1961-
" " 1962-Washed & ironed, Dad fished p.m. got 5.
" " 1963-Watered some. Ironed, set out cabbage plants, planted tomato seed & went to guild,p.m. mowed east lawn first time this spring.
April 17,1959-
" "1960-60 degrees. Washed a.m. mowed lawn first time this year.
" "1961-Cold frost. To church & s.s. no company we went to Dooley's eve.
" "1962-To guild at Dewitt's p.m.
" "1963-
April 18,1959-.48 degrees rain a.m. Cleaned baked cookies. Dad to Burns p.m.
" "1960-Windy and warm. Ironed a.m., Mae & Alta took me to El Do p.m. bought 2 pair shoes & gray dress.
April 18, 1961-Dad to Dooley's to fix fence. I quilted a.m. set out 60 cabbage plants p.m. cultivated garden to Kati es eve.
April 18,1962-Went to Ted Gfeller sale Calvin Heyman passed away.
" "1963-To El Do eve bought checked material.

  1. This all makes me so nostalgic for a "simpler" time. I know they worked hard, but it seemed that they had more time. Wonder if they knew how lucky they were...
