Kansas 1941

My father gave me this telephone directory many years ago. Thought it would be nice to share on Grandma Zs blog. My parents moved to Miami in 1944 or 5.
This book has 22 pages, that includes Classified too. Has information about the directory and how to make out-of-town calls, station to station or person to person and also collect calls.A call from El Dorado to Miami in 1941- station to station - week days=2.80 nights and Sunday=1.85 week days=3.75 and nights and Sundays=2.80. Nights and Sunday rates apply from 7pm to 4:30am and all day Sunday rates are for 3 minutes (On Station to Station calls of 25 cents or less, 5 minutes. On calls costing from .50 to .99, federal tax is 10 cents; from $1 to $1.99, tax is 15 cents; $2 AND OVER, 20 cents. Kansas Intra-State Calls Are Subject to the Kansas State Sales Tax of 2 %.
